The required amount of fluorinated surfactant is roughly a tenth of hydrocarbon surfactants. Only a small amount is required to significantly reduce the surface tension of liquids, and thus can be used as emulsifying, penetrating, leveling, lubricating, or dispersing agents. They can be used in water- or oil-based environments. The scope of application include:

• Emulsifying agent for the emulsion polymerization of fluororesins
• Penetrating agent for fiber processing
• Leveling agent for coating, ink, wax, and light-resistant materials
• Lubricating and dispersing agents for dissolving liquid-solids or liquid-liquids
• Foaming agent for foam-based extinguishers
• Anti-fogging agent for greenhouse plastic sheeting

Fluorinated mold releasing agents demonstrate relatively low surface energy, and thus possess superior non-adhesive and releasing characteristics than conventional silicone or wax mold release agents. Only a thin layer is required (a tenth of silicone mold release agents) during application. They have the following characteristics:

• Only a thin coat is required. Thus, such agents can be even form a uniform coating on molds with patterns, rendering them suitable for products with high precision requirements.
• Such agents are highly stable under extreme heat. They do no disperse even at temperatures of 230 °C. Therefore, they will not hinder conductivity, rendering them suitable for the molding of high-precision electronic components.
• Such agents are non-adhesive, which translates to increased mold transfer and production efficiency. In addition, agent residue is minimal, exponentially improving the printing and adhesiveness of finished products.
